The IRESS Web Services programming interface gives direct access to the following IRESS solutions:
- IRESS Information System - request market data directly from the IRESS database
- IRESS Order System (IOS) - incorporate basic order creation functionality
- IRESS Portfolio System (IPS) - request and modify portfolio details.
The base functionality of IRESS Web Services lets you display share price and associated market data on your website. At a more sophisticated level, users can develop customised trading interfaces.
Data is retrieved in an XML format for use in HTML and XML output scenarios.
IRESS Web Services is accessible via the internet using the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). Applications can be developed on any platform, using any language as long as the software can produce a valid SOAP request.
With IRESS Web Services, you can specify the data feed to be live, request-based or with a 20 minute delay.
