The IRESS Funds Trading System (FTS) is a front and middle office system for Australian equity Fund Managers, which allows institutional traders to streamline and automate funds modelling and trading activities across multiple portfolios. It also supports real-time valuation of portfolios and displaying holdings across multiple funds in a consolidated form.
Benchmark construction and management is core to FTS. Measuring portfolios against their benchmarks generates imbalance notifications at a fund or fund group level. Orders are generated from the imbalances and sent to the market via the IRESS Order System (IOS).
As trades occur, IOS sends traded volume back to FTS, initiating an allocation process to distribute the volume to the appropriate source portfolios. To complete the process, booking calculations are electronically sent to brokers.
