The report is based on an analysis of responses from 21 lenders from across the lending spectrum; high street banks and mutuals to small regional societies and challenger banks, representing 64% of the intermediary mortgage market, and 120 intermediaries.
Lenders clearly recognise the importance of the intermediary market, and have taken significant strides to improve their systems to make them more intuitive and efficient for intermediaries to use. However, there is more that can be done to make the application process as seamless, transparent and quick as possible.
Our survey identifies those areas where lenders are demonstrating best practice and also, those areas where there remains a divide to be bridged between intermediary expectations and current lender provision.
