In 2021 we developed our environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy. Today we remain committed to observing internationally-recognised risks, such as climate change and modern slavery, and acting on these as part of our ESG roadmap.

Environmental

  • Committed to setting science-based targets for emissions reduction.
  • Creating an E-waste partnership in every region.
  • Exploring sustainability principles in software engineering and design.

Social

  • Creating an Australian Indigenous inclusion program to assess areas aligned with Iress’ business and communities.
  • Developing a calendar of events (regional and global) to create a culture of inclusion and belonging.
  • Identifying the scope for affinity groups (as part of the broader diversity strategy).
  • Identifying specific supplier opportunities in the procurement selection process.

Governance

  • Reporting on the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
  • Continuing training and awareness programs.
  • Reporting to the Iress Board through the Audit & Risk Committee.

Iress Impact

Established in 2017, Iress Impact (formerly Iress Foundation) operates with a structured framework and a keen focus on three causes aligned to Iress' business areas, communities, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • Quality IT education (SDG 4).
  • Decent work (SDG 8).
  • Provision of services to charities (SDG 17).

Timeline

With positive momentum, Iress is in a good position to continue to improve ESG outcomes over the coming years. With a clear strategy, our ESG outcomes are pragmatic and measurable.
