Alten brings over a decade of experience at Iress, starting as a model builder for global markets before advancing into a product leadership role. He has adeptly overseen key applications like Xtools+, Visualise, and Prime, showcasing his dedication to innovation and efficiency. His consultancy work with Super Funds, focusing on enhancing their digital advice solutions, highlights his relevant experience and aptitude in the field. This expertise, combined with his current position as the Head of Data Science, uniquely qualifies him to discuss the integration of AI into the advice process. Alten's career began in South Africa, where he worked as an actuarial consultant after earning a degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Stellenbosch.
Amara has over 20 years’ experience in financial services product and strategy for wealth management, covering investment management, advice and superannuation in Australia and globally. Prior to joining Iress, Ms Haqqani was the Chief Client Strategy Officer for Bennelong Funds Management, where she oversaw client strategy, product development and management, regulatory affairs and corporate sustainability.
Andrew is a partner in Deloitte’s Melbourne office in the Actuarial Consulting practice. Andrew has spent more than 30 years advising clients on superannuation, life insurance, employee benefits, risk management, investments and talent management. During his career, Andrew has also driven research and public policy in various areas of interest, including retirement income products and solutions, retirement adequacy, member disclosure and advice, member engagement and digital solutions, governance and managing conflicts.
Peter Crone was appointed a Commissioner of the ACCC in December 2020. Peter has more than 30 years of experience in economic policy and commercial strategy at the highest levels of government and business in Australia. He has served as an adviser to state and federal governments, including as Senior Economic Advisor to Australia’s Prime Minister from 1997 to 2006, and filled chief economist roles at the Business Council of Australia, Ernst and Young, and Coles Group. Peter has also been a commercial adviser to a number of superannuation funds on infrastructure investments, and commenced his career at the Commonwealth Treasury as a policy adviser and research economist. Peter brings deep experience in assessing and explaining economic and regulatory trends at play across markets and industries. His broad experience reflects the economy-wide remit of the ACCC. Peter chairs the ACCC’s Consumer Data Right Committee and Child Care Inquiry Board and is a member of the Mergers Review Committee, as well as the Digital Platforms, Financial Services Inquiry, Electricity Markets Inquiry and East Coast Gas Market Boards. Peter holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from the University of Western Australia. He is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
George has over 20 years of financial services experience across superannuation, insurance and banking. He has developed technical expertise and the ability to identify and design the appropriate products, services, and partnerships to solve complex challenges today’s financial businesses face.
Guy is an Associate Partner in the Sydney office of McKinsey & Company. He is a passionate & proven people leader & coach with deep implementation and transformation expertise.
Since joining McKinsey & Company, Guy has played a major role in architecting and leading complex end to end organisational transformation programs across Australasia in a diverse range of sectors, including multiple experiences as a Chief Transformation Officer (CTO).
Guy holds a Masters of Commerce (1st Class Honours, Senior Scholar) from the University of Auckland. Guy's academic work has been published in the Journal of Marketing Research, the Journal of Advertising Research, the Journal of Marketing Theory & Practice, Marketing Intelligence & Planning, and the University of Auckland Business Review.
Kam is a results driven, Client Focused Director with over 20 years experience in Banking, Securities Services and Markets. Kam has a very detailed understanding of how Markets work from a Front office to Back Office perspective and implemented efficient operating models globally for Clients within the Asset Management and Pensions segments. Kam Successfully led a custody platform migration for a USD$60bn wealth client, 180 funds with 65 Investment Managers and multi product. Kam Designed a new operating structure for the firm to take on our first new ETF client with 63 funds being onboarded. This was a successful migration with Market Making, Custody and Back Office services. Post the migration, Kam also set up the team to launch new ETFS on an ongoing basis in a shorter timeframe compared to standard Fund Launches.
Martin is a Managing Director in Accenture’s Strategy and Consulting Practice specialising in technology enable transformation. Martin has over 20 years of strategy consulting experience across Financial Services, FMCG, Life Sciences, Superannuation, and related sectors. Martin has led Global Business Services engagements with specific focus on large scale transformation and has worked in a consulting and advisory capacity in Australia, US, EMEA and Asia Pac. He has advised and worked with executives from such organisations as Macquarie Group Limited, CIMIC, Optus, Rio Tinto, Brambles, AMP, Fonterra, Ausgrid, and QBE. Martin has significant firsthand experience of the complexities of the Superannuation sector and the regulatory challenges it presents. As the former CEO of ASFA he has firsthand understanding of the implications of CPS230.
Michael joined Iress 13 years ago and has focused on our ore products of Acurity and SuperConnector. Michael is an experienced technologist with over 20 years experience in the financial sector delivering strategy, architecture and development and support. Michael has held senior technical roles at Financial Synergy and ANZ with responsibilities for team management, budgeting, hosting and quality control.
Olivier leads analytics and AI for Financial Services in Australia and New Zealand at Amazon Web Services. He works closely across business, technology and data team to turbocharge customer experiences, deliver operational efficiencies, and invent new products. Olivier has a background in strategy consulting, and leading cross functional product, engineering and AI teams. He has a master's degree in Industrial Engineering from Ecole CentraleSupelec, and a master's degree in management, science and engineering from Stanford University.
Paul joined Iress in 2022 and now leads our Superannuation business. Prior to joining Iress, he held senior roles at Mercer, Link Group and the Insurance Council of Australia as well as in the Federal Government, including for Prime Minister & Cabinet and the Dept of Finance. Paul was also Chief of Staff to the Assistant Treasurer from 2013 to 2015 where he managed portfolio responsibility for superannuation, banking, insurance, the ASX, and the regulators.
Tom has 25 years of experience across product development, sales, commercial strategy and innovation, in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. He has experience ranging from global enterprises to startups, across both the public and private sectors and almost every industry vertical, and has a special interest in the cultural and product management aspects of SaaS transformation. Tom is currently the Principal SaaS Business Consultant for the AWS SaaS Factory team, helping to scale software companies to SaaS models throughout the Asia Pacific Japan region.
